Pay It Forward...Again

I loved the Thanksgiving giveaway so much I decided to do it again.

Here are the rules:

Leave a comment with a way to GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU. Tell me who you would give the extra gift card to. The winner (s) get a $50 Walmart giftcard for themselves and an extra one to give to someone else to buy Thanksgiving groceries.

After you win, come back and leave a comment telling about your experience.

Easy Easy. And, it makes you feel GOOD.

I will close the comments tonight at 6 Central Time.

Happy entering.

I love this idea of yours Beachy Mimi. This is the season of giving and I love to pay it forward. I would give the other gift card to an elderly man who is a deacon in our church. His wife has recently been put in the nursing home, he hopes temporarily, but we all know how that usually goes. He is having a real hard time emotionally and financially. He has been trying to sell some of his things to help him have gas money to go back and forth to see her, she is in a town about 35 miles away. mlbd98@yahoo.com

This is still one of my favorite give aways. You are the best!

I would love to send the card to Laine. (This is the same one I used last time, but the need is still there!)

I knew Laine in college and though we were not close and she lives far away, I have been following her story through the web.

Please pray for her family - her story is here:

Their son is at Arkansas Children's Hospital and have some wonderful friends near there who they are staying with. I know things are tough and they could use it!

You are such a wonderful giving person. It blows me away every time!

We actually just found out that my best friend is getting laid off, it never seems to end does it. Her two children are in Boo's school, and are the most wonderful kids. She and her husband have been working so hard, and now to have this hit them is awful.

Thanks again.

What a great idea. I would give the gift card to my mom. She always cooks Thanksgiving dinner for my extended family but she is disabled and they barely make enough money to get by. She would love to have this money to buy more food for the family! Beachy Mimi, you are the best. dystinee24@gmail.com

I would give the other card to my daughter-in-law, who is so supportive to my son and a wonderful mom to their 2 children.

I am fortunate to not know anyone personally that is in desperate need. I would contact our church and find someone who does. What an amazing gift. I'm sure there are more people than we can even comprehend that need extra help this year.

Thanks for doing this!!!!!!!

My sister KitKat and her family are in desperate need this year. I'd actually give them both cards. She stays home with their four children (two of whom are under the age of three). My BIL works in the mortgage industry. This past month, he earned a paycheck of $500. For a family of six. In the Washington, DC area.

I'm so sad for them because they continue to struggle so, so much. They made some bad decisions about four years ago, but they continue to pay the consequences four years later. Yet they truly have learned the lessons they needed to learn. I mean, if living with us for six months doesn't cure you, what will?

Imaginary conversation between BIL and sister - "Honey, let's never put ourselves in a position where we have to live with THOSE PEOPLE ever again. Oh. My. Word."

I would give the extra card to my niece, who earlier this summer lost her mother(my sister), and then lost everything in her home to the hurricanes that hit the Houston area. It has been a tough year for her and her family.

The same young family I mentioned before is still in need. The mom is homeschooling while the dad is working and attending the local university full time.

I am blessed to spend Thanksgiving with my in-love's so I would give both cards away: one to a single mom in our church with a mentally ill son, and the other to a retired pastor and his wife who, after serving God's people for over 40 years, are living VERY meager lives.

I LOVE this idea!!

What? One for me and another for someone else?
SWEET!!!
I would give the other one to my friend, Christy. Because she thinks that WalMart is the single best place on this entire huge planet. She goes there when she's stressed to calm down. She shops there AT LEAST every other day of the week. I can pretty much guarantee that if I drive by WalMart, I can find her car in the parking lot. If I won a $50 gift card for her, she just might cry. For real.
Love ya, Mimi!

Wow - how nice! I would give the other one to my parents, my dad was laid-off about 3 months ago, and still has not found any work, he looks day and night, has had many interviews, but still can't seem to come up with anything.

I would give this to my parents. I am a single parent and they do so much to help with my four kids and all of their activities.

I liked this idea so well that we are doing gift card give-aways in our family instead of gag gift night. We'll all share our stories of giving, instead.

I'd give both cards to local families who are struggling.

I would give the card to Bro. Hallum at our church. Mindy left a comment too and named the same person. I think he is really struggling and I can't think of anyone who would appreciate it more than he would.

I would give the card to our new animal shelter - http://www.madisonark.org/

They opened due to the recent hurricanes in our area. The Ark has taken in hurricane refugees and is in desperate need of food and supplies, in addition to volunteers.

Please love our animals. mississippigirl@gmail.com

I won the last time, so if I win again I will donate both cards. I would give one card to my in-laws who have fallen on hard times and the other card I would give to someone that my church tells me is in need of it. I love doing stuff like that!
By the way, as of yesterday I hadn't gotten my cards yet.

This is a fantastic idea. Especially around the holidays, it is important to help others. I would give them both away though. One to my best friend A who is in the middle of a tough divorce and also facing being laid off at the end of November. The other I would give to the Lokey Family and here is Conner's story. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/connerlokey

How fun! I would love to give a gift card to the family of a child in my little boy's kindergarten class. There is a real need!

You are always so generous!!

I would give the other gift card to the Mexican woman who came to clean my house every other week. We first hired her when I was 8 months pregnant with #6 just to help out - and we kept her for two years! I felt really bad about letting her go but with money getting tighter it was just an expense we had to let go of since the house only stayed clean for about an hour after the kids got home that day anyway! Her husband does beautiful woodwork and we've had him build us a couple items. They are both very nice and I miss her!

I'm not sure which one but I'd give it to a family at my church who works really hard to care for their family and loads of other families but just doesn't have the best luck. There are a couple of them so I'd really have to think about it but one of those families would deserve it.

To me it comes down to recognizing that while a card for me would help others need it more. I have two dear friends who could use a boost like this. One has terminal cancer and the other works a horrible job to keep her lawyer paid so he can keep her abusive ex husband at bay. These would be great to pass forward.

I love paying it forward! Our office adopts an Angel Tree family and this WM gift card would to them so they could do some more personal shopping.

I would give both away to a couple of families in our church! Thanks for such a neat giveaway!

I would give one to my daddy's sister. Indirectly this would also help my dad and their other sister who usually help buy her groceries.

The other one would go to a friend of mine who is also in that situation of helping her mom out with groceries and other expenses from time to time.

I would give the card to a couple in our area who serve as foster parents in a group home for teenagers. They provide guidance and stability for these kids, all the while sacrificing many of their own material desires (including having their own home, as they live full-time in the group home with the teens). We all know how much teens can eat, so I'm sure they would appreciate the extra grocery money!

The other card would go to our part-time church secretary, a single mom with 2 girls that is the most amazing dollar stretcher I know!

I'm not sure I know anyone personally that would need the gift card. I'd rather not just give a gift card to a church program or shelter, I'd rather give it to someone I know. But, since I don't really know anyone at this point (the young woman at my office that was let go is gone now), I think I would take the gift card, and take my kids to the store and have them pick out enough food to use up the card, and then donate the food to the shelter or to the local food bank. I hope they would get a sense of the spirit of giving that way.

LOVE this idea. I would give my extra to my mom who just lost her job of 21 years due to cut backs. She is helping raise 2 of her grandchildren so I know she needs it. What a gift that would be for her!

I would give them both away. (I would feel guilty keeping one.) I would give them to a couple of people I know who just lost their jobs. (And right before the holidays; isn't that HORRIBLE!)

Thanks for all you do, Mimi! You brighten my day in so many ways!

The pressure is ON, 5 mins to closing! EEK!
Beachy, you're GENEROUS and funny!
I'd use the card to buy my own children some Christmas, things are rough!
Then, I'd ask at Church if there was a needy family who could really use the other.
Thanks, again! I'd write more, but time is a tickin'!
