The Status of the Palace

I just spent the weekend as a guest of THE PALACE being treated like...what else?...A Queen MOTHER!

I had a blast! We ate pizza, watched reruns of REBA and ACE OF CAKES and laughed (ME) maniacially at the Princess and all her shenanigans. Mimi has taught her so well.

We took a little road trip on Saturday to go to this wonderful place that has home decorating stuff for sale PLUS they serve the most fabulous lunch. I had...chicken tortilla soup, chicken salad and Bananas Foster Bread Pudding.. YUM
Queen B had the same thing except she had a Brownie Sundae. The King had a Reuben and Carrot Cake, and The Princess had Lasagna, Salad and Double Chocolate Cake. We were stuffed!!

It was a gorgeous Fall day in the mountains and I loved being with my family.

I really really really really miss the mountains. I'm pretty sure my bald man resides there...really.

I can also report that the chair is a success story. It adds just the right amount of contrast to the room and gives it a little POP.

I love little POPS in a room.

Speaking of...I found some new babies for my house at the decorator store.

Also,
The Palace

took my very subtle hints for BIRTHDAY CAKE and presented me with this. Excuse the photography.

Isn't that the cutest!!! The Princess and I may or may not have devoured two pieces Just Before Dinner. Bad Mimi.

A pig cake - I LOVE it!!!! And I'm fairly certain that my aunt has a cousin to that flying pig in her house. I, on the other hand, have a flying pig Christmas ornament from my secret pal who is waiting for a China referral like me. She gave me the ornament because, and I quote, "we will receive referrals when pigs fly."

Sounds like the perfect way to celebrate your birthday. Praying for a 'bald mountain man' to cross your path.

God Bless

That pig cake is just fantastic! I don't think I've EVER seen a pig cake before!

I'm glad you had fun. But you know, if your sweet bald honey is from the mountains, he might not want to go to the beach all the time. Maybe your sweet bald honey is from the beach...

You should try eharmony for your bald mountain man....that's how I found my redneck.

Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday.

And that cake is awesome!!!!

Happy Birthday Beachy Mimi!! Remember that you don't have to do anything you don't want to do on your birthday. Also, you get to eat anything you want.

And explain to me why you want a man in your life? My life is so easy without one.

Sounds like a great time with your family. When I lived in Florida I really missed the mountains too, so I moved back north and met my husband. Maybe it is your destiny too!
That pig cake is too cute. I love the way the writing is along the side.

Absolutely adorable...both the princess and the cake!

We have a P.I.G. party for the kids at our church every year. It stands for "People Interested in God" but it's really just a fun night with some Christian songs. LOL We feed the kids spaghetti, corn on the cob, and chocolate pudding. They have to eat it like a pig....with no hands! They LOVE it! It's very gross to see all of that food smeared in their hair, all over their faces, etc, but they have a blast! Then we have a pig snorting contest. My daughter won in her age group a few years ago. It was a proud mommy moment, let me tell you.

What a fun family time, and the food sounds delish!

Love the new pig ornaments; however, mr. kitty seems a bit hesitant to welcome them.

That cake is just precious and sooo cute. I love me some birthday cake.

A bald mountain man sounds frightening.

And, um. The Princess was kind of gonna be, you know, not showing her face on the world wide web.

The cake was pretty tasty...

Love the cake! Sounds like the perfect weekend.

The Princess is absolutely beautiful. I don't know if the Queen is going to let you keep the pic up after her comment to you, but seriously...gorgeous.

I am down with pig cake. And bananas foster bread pudding with lasagna.

I have yet to discover a food combination that I'd shy away from.
