I like to approach people and compliment them on their appearance. I know it's a little thing, but telling someone how cute her shoes are, or that I like her outfit, really seems to give someone an extra spring in their step. So, today I told someone at the grocery store what a pretty shirt she was wearing. She was an older woman, and seemed very pleased.

I spent yesterday redoing my Mom's flower garden and got her new hanging plants all I have to do is put the mulch down after church she was just beside herself with happiness.

I cleaned my Mom's living room carpet with my steam cleaner the other day. She's had some back trouble flare up, so she wasn't able to do it & it was bugging her.

It made sound really simple, but I just smile at people when I am walking down the street. Just doing that can brighten someones day. They could be having a bad day and that smile just made it a little bit better.

I helped an elderly lady (who looked like she weighed 90 lbs) put 2 big bags of kitty litter in her grocery cart the other day. She had a really stressed look on her face when she tried to pick up the bag and realized how heavy it was.
It's amazing how something so little can make someone smile.

Helped many elderly people with basic tasks this week. It was so rewarding!

My mom has dementia and my dad is her full time caregiver. There isn't much I can do for her but there is a LOT I can do for him. But my favorite act of kindness is to pay for the person behind you when you are at a drive-thru eatery.

I just blogged about this last week - I found a cell phone in a rest area and I tracked the people down (through the contact list in the phone)and met up with them at the next rest area.

Two weeks ago I paid $4.00 of someones grocery bill because they were short the money. It was nice to be able to do that.

Have a great day!

I run all DramaMamaMother's errands for her because she has 2 bum knees and walking around big box stores like Target and Wal Mart kill her- So, I just pick things up for her while I am there and then deliver them of course-I'm a good dramamamadaughter like that!

Wow, it's very kind of YOU to offer a $100 gift card! That would make my day!

When I'm out and about, I just try to be as pleasant and helpful as possibly. Recently, a lady in front of me forgot a bag at the end of the checkout lane, and I didn't realize it until I went to get my things. I saw her in the parking lot and told her. She looked pretty surprised that I'd even taken the time to stalk her in the parking lot. But I'd want somebody to do the same for me, ya know?

Because they only had 2 lanes open in Super Target today, we were in a long line with one lady behind us. When they finally opened a new checkout, we told the woman behind us to go ahead and go in front of us. She looked in our FULL buggy and said, "are you sure". We told her "yes", even though we had two wild banshee children climbing the walls.

One of my co-workers was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease this spring. I made dinner for her and her family and delivered it to them once a week.

I picked up seven kids today from a trailer park near our church today so that they could come to Sunday school. The living conditions that they are in just make you want to cry, and church is a highlight for them each week.

We're also donating some money to help our friend raise funds for a mission trip to Cambodia to help victims of human trafficking. She just found out she's been accepted to go on the trip, and she has to raise her funds by July 1! She and a group from our church are also going to Guatemala in a couple of weeks, so we've helped out with a fund-raiser garage sale for that as well as have helped out financially.

Bless you as YOU bless others!!

Babysitting my neighbors children so her and her husband could go out on a much needed date. I have realized how lucky I am to have family to help me out and that I need to be available to help others.

Well, I read about your contest this morning and I couldn't think of anything super nice I had done lately...so all day I was on the lookout : ) and finally, when we were leaving the pool tonight, I stopped at the snack shack and gave the girl taking orders $5. I see the little sign they have there about accepting tips all the time, but I usually have just enough for my sons favorite things, so they just get a quarter if they are lucky. The girl was so happy. She smiled really big and it touched my heart. My son loved giving the money too. Thank you for encouraging others to make the world a better place. God bless.

I like to smile at everyone I pass by. And it makes my day when I get a surprised smile back.

There isn't a day that goes by that anyone can't find something to do that puts a smile on someones face. Recently in a traffic jam, I let some others in line ahead of me - they were in shock, but it felt good. I also helped someone into the post office with their packages and let them also be ahead of me in the line.

I wrote a letter to the editor of our county newspaper about a woman named Dolores Zimmerman. She takes in abused and abandoned animals. As a result of my letter, she received several donations and a couple remain regular contibutors.

This weekend I took dinner to a family who just had a baby. My husband and I also spent the weekend cleaning our neighbors yard (and it still looks bad).

Our fence blew down recently in one of the Texas thunderstorms. Our neighbor is on disability and a fixed income and can't really afford to have the fence replaced, so we will be paying for all of it to be replaced. She was so incredibly grateful.

Today I was at a softball tournament for one of my daughters. While I was in the bathroom getting ready to wash my hands, a little girl about four or five years old started talking to me, and the best I could make out was that she wanted to wash her hands too. The sinks were the kind that operate by motion in front of them, but she wasn't tall enough. I assumed she was with someone and encouraged her to wait, and I continued to wash my hands.

As I finished up with the hand blow dryer and she was still talking and walking in circles by the sink, I decided to help. We got her soap and then I held my hand in front of the laser trigger to run the water from the faucet (that didn't want to work if you just simply stood in front of it) until she was done. She was able to do the blow dryer, so I went ahead and started out.

As I walked out the door, there was a man standing (he was there when I went in too) and talking to a couple of young boys about waiting on someone. I asked him if it was a little girl, which it was, so I explained the dilemma and made sure she got out.

But someone is raising her right! She wouldn't leave that bathroom until she washed her hands, and she wouldn't wash until she had soap. How many grown-ups do you see that leave a bathroom without doing that? Yuck! Kudos to you, little girl!

My neice had forgotten to buy green pepper plants and the local stores sold out. I picked her up some when we went out of town and gave them to her, no charge. She in turn shared some with someone else.

I helped a friend clean her house and prepare food for her sisters baby shower this weekend. That is true friendship when you clean someone else's toilet!

if i tell you wouldn't that be tooting my own horn? i guess i'll consider it for a $100 gift card!
i took pictures of my cousin's baby and printed them up as a surprise for her and i'm feeding my preacher several nights this week while his wife's out of town.

In the library a young child was making a fuss. His mother had four more under eight and looked like she needed meds or something.

I grab a picture book and sat on the floor and read it aloud, pointing and the like. Won the kids over like that. Really non-conspicuous, like I was Mary Poppins just for the moment. We all didn't even speak the same language.

I entered/won a baby food blog contest so I could give it to my neighbor

I have noticed that on garbage days there are always garage bins and recyclable bins tipped over all in the street. After pick-up I take a walk and help retrieve my neighbor's bins which also helps to prevent driving hazards :)

Voluntarily took care of my parents' dogs this weekend so they could enjoy a quick trip to the beach - and I'm doing it again next week while they're in Paris. If you knew these dogs........

Our pastors have four little children, so my husband and I pick up their kids (while we are picking up our own kids) from the various classrooms after service, so that Pastor and his wife are able to greet people as they are leaving the sanctuary. We then help them get everyone and everything out to their vehicle. We could not imagine how much this little act would mean to them each week!

You my friend have a GREAT attitude. I like your focus and your give a-way! Right now I feel like my selfishness out weighs the kind acts...I took the time to stop my walk this weekend and visit with an elderly woman. Funny the blessing was all mine!

My neighbor was in a car accident last week, so Saturday I surprised them with a huge pot of homeade chicken and dumplins. They were so excited and it just feels good to give.

You go girl!

Still praying for you; these "praying for you" thingys should always last a couple of days before and after the actual thing. Kind of like recording your favourite show 5 minutes before and 5 minutes after just to make sure you get the whole thing.

I know, nothing about random kindnesses, but I'm really more interested in your mental health anyway. And although I perform such random acts daily, something in me says they're invalidated if I tell what they are.
YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO TRUST ME.
:)
Go forth and have another Coke!

I spend my vacation "spending money" on groceries for my step-daughter. I didn't plan on doing that until that moment and then I felt great for the rest of my ramen noodle trip. ;)

Two days ago we were walking our dogs early in the morning...I saw a "found dog" sign up on a light pole and read it. I knew it hadn't been there the day before. Shortly aferwards, several blocks away we saw a "lost dog" sign up. It was clear from the descriptions they were the same dog. As soon as I got home, I called the person with the lost dog and gave them all the necessary info for contacting the "finder". They were very appreciative. I'd hope someone would do that for me, if my dogs were lost.

Thanks for sponsoring the giveaway.

I like to anonymously leave fresh cut flowers on my co-workers desks. Unexpected flowers always brighten a day. And the suspense of not knowing who they are from is even more thrilling.

I just can't stand the thought of people being hungry and making it worse, probably homeless so when I see someone sitting on a street corner, I used to give people a few dollars but noticed that some would just go get alcohol so instead if I see someone I will go in the store and get them a sandwich and then give it to them rather than money. My heart breaks for people that have gotten so beat down in life regardless if it was there fault or other circumstances...I can only imagine the regret and fear they must feel everyday. If I were in there shoes, I probably would be drinking too just to escape the misery for a minute or two. The only consolation I get is knowing that God is the God of second, third, fourth and fifth chances and that these people may be down and out but one day maybe they will pull themselves up again and I believe my prayer when I am back at home does more for them than the sandwich. I am glad a friend sent me here today because I needed a reminder on just how much I have to be thankful for. Take care!

Wow! I like your attitude and although a kick in the pants never feels good, I'm glad for it (considering it helps you and oh, the $100 to Amazon). The last nice thing I did was teach VBS two days last week as a substitute for lady who went into premature labor. (Please pray for her one pound baby!) I don't know this new mom, but she needs our prayers.
