Great Advice from the Peeps!

In the last several hours, I have consumed fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and a junior banana split from Sonic. Oh, and purple hull peas.
For my health and all.

The tummy is full so the humor should be restored by morning.

I was actually hoping to get some of your favorite recipes out of this but I didn't get specific enough with my whining.

Beachy Mimi is on the mend and I hope all you Peeps have a Fabulous Fall Weekend!

Feel free to drop by with your favorite recipes! Not that I am begging...much.

I don't have a recipe for chicken and mashed potatoes-I just order the chicken from a local restaurant and the mashed potatoes are always different. I love adding butter, garlic and sour cream when I mash those taters.
Hope you have a great day.

ooo sounds like some great comfort food!! When I make mashed potatoes I add sour cream into them when I am whipping them.. totally bad for you but way yummy!

Are you looking for meal recipes or dessert? Both??

For seasonal fulfillment, it's all about pumpkin right now. I have a recipe posted with links to two other great ones. I also have a great recipe for pumpkin bread - it's simple and it makes three loaves: one to eat, one to freeze and one to give away. That's win, win, win! I'll email this one to you later today.

Blessings!

Hey Mimi,
I posted a wonderful Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. It's my all time favorite cookie and it's easy to make.

I have several of my favorite recipes on my blog, but one that I haven't posted yet because we haven't done our apple picking is apple butter.
Peel, core and finely chop 5-6 pounds of apples. In a bowl mix 3 cups of sugar 2 tsp of cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground cloves and 1/4 tsp salt. Put apples in a slow cooker. Pour the mixture over the apples and mix. Cook on high heat for an hour. Stir. Then cook on low for about 10 hours. It will turn a nice brown, caramelly color. Whisk or blend to achieve the texture you prefer. Then enjoy on some warm bread and share the rest with some friends.

Take one box chocolate cake mix, bake as directed. When finished baking, poke holes all over cake with the bottem of wooden spoon....lol I couldn't resist, that is still the dang best cake ever. The only other thing I would change is to make cake in smaller pan and eat the batter (with said wooden spoon) while watching Bridges of Madison County. Can't get any better than that. Hope ya get to feeling better.

I am going to email you a couple of recipes. Also when I make mashed potatoes, I add not only the usual butter/milk/seasonings, but also sour cream, cream cheese, and sometimes french onion dip, depending on my mood. I'm pretty sure cream cheese makes everything better.

Try the death by chocolate in this link: http://3cookieday.blogspot.com/2008/07/works-for-me-wednesday-orange-salad-and.html

Yum! I made it for some friends one night and the husband (not mine, the friend) actually licked out the bowl. So it must be good. Or he's kinda crazy.
